| Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery items at a reduced cost to communities throughout the United States. Angel Food works through churches and community organizations in over 20 states, and throughout many counties in Alabama. It provides a box of food for $25 that is usually worth more than $60. One box will feed a single person for almost a month, or a family of four for a week.
Who is the ministry for? Anyone can participate in purchasing boxes of food. The reason we offer this assistance is to help those who are at the "just making it" level of life who can use the extra help each month. There are no requirements for purchase. Anyone can buy any number of boxes.
Does the menu change? Yes, the menu changes each month. Menus for the next month will be available at the distribution, or pick-up, site, at each location, and on line. There are also specials each month that can be added for a special price. The menus are balanced, healthy, and well-planned. They will include frozen foods, meat, fresh and frozen vegetables, fruit and desserts.
How do I participate? Check with your LAUNCH coordinator or counselor for locations near you. You will go to the location and pay $25 for each box you order. You will be advised of the distribution day and location - usually the end of the month. Each location will accept cash, check, or food stamps. Convenient order envelopes and instructions are also available at most locations. Most of the time, you will be able to pick up your order, see next month's menu, and turn in a new order at the same time.
