Special Recognition for Albertville: Selected by AIC for Aircraft Completion Center

Albertville in Marshall County is the site of a new industry. Aerospace Integration Corporation (AIC) announced on September 25, 2006 that it had selected the Albertville Municipal Airport to establish a 100,000 squarefoot Aircraft Completion Center (ACC). The new $12 million facility is partially completed now and will be used to assemble and “missionize” new helicopters to be used by the U.S. Army, other military services, and civilian customers. “This is a great day for Albertville and the State of Alabama,” said Governor Riley. This facility will eventually create 300 new jobs and will greatly enhance the economic wealth of both this community and the region.

The Aircraft Completion Center’s capabilities will include aircraft assembly, machining and sheet metal fabrication, avionics testing and repair, painting, and flight testing. AIC’s other Alabama facilities include two 8,000 square foot hangars at the Albertville Airport for refitting military helicopters, and a 20,000 square foot cable harness and kit fabrication facility in Huntsville/ Madison.

Current job openings at the Albertville facility are for a Junior Technician, an Electronic Technician and a Mechanical Technician. AIDT Training opens doors to some of these jobs.
